Top 5 Actors Who Could Steal a Franchise

This is an interesting list. It got spurred by this picture.
It made me think of other franchises driven by the lead actors that might be coming to an end or will be changing. So I thought, what's a franchise I'd like to see change actors? So I compiled this list. Now I adjusted my list for practicality. Meaning; A) Is the franchise in a place where changing actors wouldn't be contrieved B) Is that actor practical? An example of what I'm talking: My dream actor for Spider-Man is Eddy Redmayne but because I know Marvel wants a younger actor to play Spider-man and Redmayne is 33, he wouldn't be on this list. C) It has to be a pre-existing franchise. So new franchises like Inhumans and Captain Marvel won't appear on this list. With all that said let's begin.

5) The Franchise: Wolverine
The Actor: Aaron Taylor Johnson

I'm not suggesting that Taylor-Johnson becomes Logan but the character to carry on the Wolverine mantle. In the comics, Logan had a son named Daken. I believe that if 'The Wolverine' sequel is truly Hugh Jackman's last time as Wolverine, it could be revealed in the movie that Logan has an estranged son named Daken who would be played Taylor-Johnson. Daken is essentially a darker version of Wolverine, he's even more a beast than his dad and a lot more morally ambiguous; a true anti-hero. I believe Taylor Johnson has the capability to bring that rage needed to make Daken stick with audiences.

Now some would object since he's already a part of the MCU as Quicksilver. First, there are rumors that Quicksilver could die in the sequel. Secondly, if Quicksilver doesn't die, so what? I've never bought this narrative that an actor can only play ONE superhero in their career or be in multiple franchises. When people say this they tend to follow with "the audience will be distracted", well that might be applicable if let's say Ben Affleck was cast as Norman Osborn, he's a well known actor, and recognizable face so that might be 'distracting' but that doesn't apply to Taylor-Johnson. He's not a household name like Affleck, Damon, or Pitt, and he's diverse. He doesn't play the sam character is each film. Also he's dead sexy!!!! That's also a plus when casting your anti-heros.

4) The Franchise: Mission Impossible
The Actor: Henry Cavill

Superman just makes everything better (Except role play sex, I learned that the hard way). Cavill is a rising action star. If you've followed the behind the scenes of Man of Steel, you know he's dedicated to his physicality. He has a great electric personality that's necessary for a great action star. Of all the franchises I feel Mission Impossible is the one he could take over. He already has taken a franchise from Tom Cruise. His role in the upcoming Man from U.N.C.L.E. was originally meant for Tom Cruise. Hey, why not go three for three and cast Cavill in the Top Gun remake?
But I digress, Cavill is the perfect choice. Now I'm not sure if it would just recast the role of Ethan Hunt (Cavill and Cruise look the same age), or if Cavill would be a different character, but either way Cavill was built to lead this franchise.

3) The Franchise: James Bond
The Actor: Michael Fassbender

With Spectre being Daniel Craig's fourth bond film, it's reasonable to assume it may be his last. Now the fan favorite for this role is Idris Elba but I don't see why. Yeah, yeah diversity and what not, and, sure, he is an adequate choice for the role, I guess, but I personally don't see him as a fit, at least not as much of a fit for the role as Michael Fassbenber. Square jawed, suave, witty, sexy, with a touch of ruggedness, Fassbender has all the ingredients for the ideal James Bond.

2) The Franchise: Green Lantern
The Actor: Nate Parker

Now Green Lantern has had a shot at the big screen before(It didn't go too well). But he's getting another one in 2020. I'm think WB would go the more PC route and separate themselves from the previous which was panned across the board. I'm think that also means getting a new Lantern. Now me, I want John Stewart to get his time to shine and the actor to play him; Nate Parker. He's one of those guys like Anthony Mackie who is destined to play a superhero. He's got an introspective energy that is needed with John Stewart. Stewart deals with a lot of regret and rage as a character and I think Parker can bring those things to the role of John Stewart.

1) The Franchise: Captain America
The Actor: Anthony Mackie

Here me out, here me out. So y'know how Cap dies in the comics and Bucky took over? Something similar has happened recently. While I rolled my eyes at the idea of a "female Thor", I was intrigued by the idea of Sam Wilson a close friend to Captain America taking on the roll of Captain America. Unlike "female Thor", this felt natural. Sam Wilson has been Cap's friend for a while in the comics, and the Marvel cinematic universe has set up a really good friendship between the 2. So what if Roger dies in either Civil War or Infinity War, and in honor of his fallen friend, Sam Wilson becomes THE ALL-NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA.

BAM! 100 MILLION DOLLAR OPENING WEEKEND!!!! Any way, its a more natural way to bring diversity to the MCU. Anthony Mackie is awesome actor and I think this the franchise where he can show his chops as a leading man.

So tell me what you think my list in the comments section. Agree? Disagree? This is Chris Davis and Cinema is my cocaine.
